Plain-English guide, not a substitute for the Terms of Service
We would rather over-explain how billing works than have you find out the hard way. Here is everything.
A credit is the unit we meter generation in. Every plan comes with a monthly allowance, and every action that costs us compute costs you some credits.
We use credits instead of counting "generations" because a line of ad copy and a 15 second video are not remotely the same amount of work. Credits let the price track the actual cost, so you are not subsidizing heavy video users if all you want is copy.
Before you run anything, the app shows you exactly what it will cost. No action is ever billed at a number you did not see first.
| Plan | Price | Credits per month |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $59 per month | 500 |
| Growth | $99 per month | 1,500 |
| Agency | $249 per month | 5,000 |
Need more before your cycle resets? There is one credit pack: 1,000 credits for $59, bought once, whenever you want.
Roughly, so you can plan. The exact number is always shown in the app before you commit.

Video is priced by quality tier and by length, because that is how the underlying cost works.

Stitching clips together on the canvas costs 3 credits, or 8 if you add a voiceover. The clips themselves are already paid for.
A rough sense of scale: on Starter, 500 credits is something like 70 sets of ad copy, or 250 image creatives, or a dozen or so standard videos, or any mix of those.
If you do not use your whole monthly allowance, the remainder carries into next month. You are not punished for a quiet week.
There is one limit: your rolled-over balance is capped at one month of your plan's allowance. So on Growth, you can carry up to 1,500 credits forward. You cannot stockpile indefinitely.
Credits you buy in a pack behave differently from plan credits, and better.
You paid cash for those. We are not going to take them back on a calendar technicality.
This is the part most tools get wrong, so we want to be clear about it.
When you cancel, your unused plan credits are paused. They are not wiped. They sit there. If you come back and reactivate, they come back with you.
Most AI tools charge you for the attempt. We charge you for the result.
Here is how it works. When you hit generate, we reserve the credits rather than spending them. Those credits are held, not taken. They are only actually settled against your balance once the finished asset exists and has been stored.
If the generation does not deliver, the reservation is released and the credits go straight back. Automatically. You do not file a ticket. You do not email us. You do not have to notice.
This covers every way a generation can fail:
Two safety nets. Most failures are refunded in the same instant they happen. Anything that somehow slips past that is caught by a job that runs every 15 minutes and releases any reservation that has been sitting open for more than 20 minutes. So even a failure nobody noticed, on a tab you closed an hour ago, gets swept up and returned.
You can close your laptop mid-generation and go to lunch. If it did not deliver, you were not charged.
The one thing this does not cover. If a generation delivers successfully and you simply do not like it, those credits are spent. That is not a technical failure, it is a creative one, and running it again costs credits again. We show you the price before every run so there are no surprises either way.
Every credit movement in your account is recorded in a ledger. Every reservation, every settlement, every automatic refund.
If something looks off, email support@alsterads.ai with the email on your account and roughly when it happened. We will pull up the ledger, see exactly what was reserved and what settled, and fix anything that did not resolve properly.
We would genuinely rather hear about it than have you quietly assume you got shorted.
How to cancel.Account settings. It takes a few seconds and there is no retention gauntlet, no "are you sure" maze, and no phone call.
When it takes effect. At the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep full access until then. We do not cut you off the moment you click.
What happens to your stuff. Your projects, saved ads, tracked brands, and generated creatives are kept. Your account moves to a canceled state rather than being deleted. If you reactivate, everything is there, including your paused credits.
Downgrading instead. If you are on Agency or Growth and it is more than you need, downgrading is usually better than canceling. Downgrades take effect at your next renewal. If the smaller plan has lower limits, some older projects become read-only rather than being deleted. Nothing is destroyed.
If you want everything gone. Ask us, or close your account in settings, and we delete your data on the timeline in the Privacy Policy. Export your creatives first.
Straight answer: we do not refund partly used months as a matter of course. You can cancel any time, and you keep what you paid for until the period ends.
That said, if something has genuinely gone wrong, write to support@alsterads.ai and tell us what happened. We would rather sort it out than have you feel taken.
And none of this touches your legal rights. If the consumer law where you live gives you a right to a refund, you have it, regardless of anything on this page.
If you are a consumer in the UK, and in the EU if and when we open EU consumer sales, you have a statutory right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days.
The catch, and we will be honest about it. AlsterAds gives you access immediately. Under the law, if you ask for immediate access you give up the withdrawal right, because the service has already started being supplied.
So at checkout you are asked to tick a box confirming that you want to start immediately and understand that this means giving up the 14 day right. That box is not pre-ticked and you have to choose it.
If you did not tick it, you have the full 14 days. Email support@alsterads.ai and say you are withdrawing. A single sentence is enough. We refund everything within 14 days, to the card you paid with, with no fee.
If you ticked it and then change your mind inside 14 days, talk to us anyway. Depending on how much you have actually used, we may be able to refund part of it.
Most AlsterAds customers are businesses, and this right does not apply to business purchases.
Email support@alsterads.ai. A person reads it.
